So good i had to buy TWO
SImply put this rod to be is outstanding! I am a saltwater angler going primarily for scup, seabass blackfish, and fluke. So as you can see I need a rod that I can feel the action and the St. Croix does not let you down. If i fish farts near it i feel it. I was sp highly impressed that I had to buy a 2nd one for surf fishing. St. Croix makes a fine rod and getting them from Tackle Direct is a good deal. Excellent product + Excellent service= A VERY satisfied returning customer.
ProsOutstanding action! Well made. Feels great, Light and strong.
ConsExpensive but you get what you pay for.

Perfect trout rod!
I love the 6'6" UL for trout fishing. I can cast small spinners a mile and the sensitivity is very good.

I paired the Premier 6’6” medium fast 2 piece rod with a Shimano Symmetre 2000. The combo is sweet! I caught a 3 pounds, 4 ounces largemouth bass the first time I used it and I have to say the rod performed flawlessly! I’ll be getting the casting version soon! Highly recommended!
ProsResponsiveness Lots of backbone Ease of transport

Great rod for trout and crappie fishing and can handle even the occasional bass. I paired this up with a Shimano Stradic Ci4+ 1000 with 5# powerpro and it performs very well.

Ultra Light Fast Action
Great action and sensitive tip. If you enjoy the fight and play of a nice fish on the end of your line you will love the action of this ultra light rod. St Croix rods are the best rods made.

Great Blackfish Jigging Rod
Recently paired this rod with a Shimano Stradic Ci42500 with the intent of using it for shallow water blackfish jigging. I can confidently say that its got more than enough backbone to horse even the bullish of Togs from the bottom. In a span of a couple days I landed several 7lbers, a 10.5 and an 11.5 Tog in less than 20 feet of water. The 6'6" length is the best combination of sensitivity and backbone as well.

Very Nice Rod
This was my first St. Croix rod and I really like it. Very light, sensitive and works great as my main inshore rod. Very good buy. Pairs up really well with a stradic fk

trout rod supreme
Excellent rod for that poping cork fishing experience. The light action tip allows for the perfect combination to set the hook in the easiest and most delicate of the yellow mouths strike while keeping the tough pressure required to get that once in alife time fishn to the boat.

St Croix Premier
Probably one of the best rods in the price range made by a great and trustworthy brand. The rod has great feel and can be used for just about anything depending on your action. I would definitely recommend this rod to anyone in the market for a new great bass rod.

Best Rods on Earth ...
Not just a slogan … I'm both a salt and freshwater angler and own or have used many rods. I have half a dozen St Croix rods and is the first place I look when in the market for a different application. Top notch, high quality, great company, made in the USA !
Pros- Power - Sensitivity - Look and feel - Durability
Cons- Some get pricey but you get what you pay for

All around use
This is a good all around general use inshore rod. I typically use a 7ft M and MH for back bay light to medium action. These rods are constructed well and are built to last.
ProsLight weight Strength Sensitive

Nice for Crappie
Very good action for panfish in general. More sensitive than I expected from the Premier series. This rod seems to load up more than some fast action rods I've used. It makes catching Crappie great fun. I really enjoy fishing this one.
ProsNice rod at a fair price.

Great Rod. Would recommend this rod to friends. No issues. This is my second St. Croix Rod.

Nice spinning rod!
I bought this rod to target Northern Pike with spinning gear. I like the rod but feel it is stiffer in action than I expected with it's medium heavy power rating. If you enjoy using spinning gear and are looking for a strong stiff action rod, this will fill the bill. I will call it "Medium Heavy Plus" action.

St Croix 2 pc Premier Spinning Rods
I have six of these spinning rods, all 2 pc, ranging from 6 to 7 ft and in line ranges from 4-10 to 6-12 lb. I use the two 6 ft rods for bass fishing while the four 7 ft rods are my everyday light saltwater rods. I started buying these rods 6 or 7 yrs ago and have been very pleased with their performance. This past summer, while trolling for Spanish with a couple of the 6-12 lb outfits I hooked a 20 lb+ Cobia and was not overmatched. I like the fit and finish and think these are good medium action rods. And I like being able to buy quality two pc rods since I travel with them frequently.

St. Croix delivers value and quality
This rod is great for worm fishing bass. It is light weight and very sensitive to light pickups by smallmouth bass. The rod has a very strong backbone so you can confidently set the hook. Pair this rod with a light weight reel and you will have a great set up.
ProsStrong backbone for setting the hook when worm fishing. St. Croix 5 year warranty

This rod is great for catching smaller fish but having a great time with them. You can cast very well with it and has great play while reeling in fish.

I paired the St. Croix PS66LF2 rod with a Pflueger President 6930 Reel to use a Trout/Panfish rig. I rod is awesome! Lightweight, super sensitive, and casts a "country mile". First time out I was only able to fish for about 45 minutes. I caught a LM bass and a decent sized Trout using Mepps spinners and the rig performed flawlessly. I would highly recommend this rod.

Best fluke rod!
Bought one of these two springs ago, and since than I have made it my number one fluke rod. I mounted the rod with a "Abu Garcia REVO Premier 10 PRM10 Spinning Reel". The combination is fantastic, an very light and great fun. I mostly cast a double Gulp 6" rig (teaser and 1oz Spro), or a single D.O.A. 6" Shrimp, with a (.5oz trolling sinker). Most people the first time they see the rod smirk a little, till they see the distance I get with the 10lb Nanofil from Berkley, then with the nice keepers I have fun with. Last year I had 14 pools, a number of 5-7lb fluke and one day a 4 & an 8lb fluke for the seasons best on the boat, but still not a doormat that has eluded me for all my life. I just bought another of the same St. Croix and mounted a "Abu Garcia REVO Premier RVO3PRM-L" even though I am right-handed, but that is the right way to fish. This will be a different way to fish with the baitcaster on the rod. But, what is fishing for; to have fun and try anything. GREAT ROD!
ProsVery Very Light Sensitive Durable Perfect size for a boat
