I'm a kid so I may not be as strong as some people which is why I love this rod. Most rods when you get up to this size are bulky and heavy, but this rod is the opposite which makes it easier when fighting a fish. Trust me it really does make a difference
ProsVery lightweight Not super expensive Nice sensitivity

We use these rods for Tuna fishing, so when we needed a couple more rods for our electric reels, we went back to the Trevalas. These are awesome rods for the price!

This rod is fantastic! No cons at all! If you are having indecision, this is a great rod for vertical jigging. No problems at all.
ProsGreat backbone. Can man-handle grouper up to 30 lbs. Great with AJs

Great all around jigging rod. Very easy to clean after a day out on the salt. Really no downside at all to this rod, isn't as much fight as the Type S pole it has more control.
ProsEasy to clean Sturdy

Matches this rod up with a torium and it's a match made it heaven. I originally bought an avet for it but I don't think I'll switch it up. Has a lot of backbone for such a light rod! Awesome!
ProsLightweight Feels awesome
ConsNot a big fan of the finger frip

I have it for like 3 to 4 years. Catch a lot of fish. I took out last week and the rod broke in haft. I'm located in Monterey ca. I went fishing in a charter boat for rock fish and lincod. I hook up with a big ling ling and when I try to reel in it snap in haft. I still use it and got the limit on rock fish. When I bought the rod it have lifetime warranty. I check shimano website and they only offered one year. I love the rod it just suck how shimano change it to one year warranty. I bought this rod due to lifetime warranty. I have send the rod to shimano and no fishing for me for like 2weeks. Today I recieve a new rod replacement. My only worries is the rod have a tag for only one year warranty???? I'm just like whats going on I bought the rod due to lifetimewarranty!!! Shimano tech need to fix this... I will call shimano tomorrow to make sure I'm still on the lifetime warranty. Shimano with gloomis hope you guys don't change your gloomis warranty !!! FIXED THIS PLEASE. ITS UNFAIR FOR CUSTOMERS WHO BUY QUALITY RODS AND REELS WITH A LIFETIME WARRANTY. AND NOT KNOWING IT CHANGE TO 1YEAR WARRANTY.
ProsGood Quality rod
ConsWarranty Recommend I will pick NO due to warranty

Great rod for the money

If you plan on catching just about any fish out there other than tuna from grouper, snapper to giant 100lb AJ's this is a great choice. You can jig it all day due to it's light weight. The shorter length will help save on your back as well.
ProsTough and light weight
ConsNot built for YFT or BFT

This rod is unbelievable. I had my doubts at first. Especially after the first few catches of smaller fish when the rod seemed to bend too much. My first larger fish was around 85lbs. It is incredible how this rod responded. Not at all like I expected after catching the first few fish that were smaller. The rod seems to stiffen with a good solid feel on the larger fish. I paired it with a two speed LD40 Saltiga. I'm primarily a freshwater angler so I wanted a multiple-capable set-up for my saltwater excursions. It's definitely a rod worth buying.
