Well versatile rod
September 30, 2021
Good for piers and boat. Light but strong back bone. For it's size it can handle a lot of weight.
ConsThe top ring above the handled falls apart on all of my slimwave rods. I just super glue it back.

Wanted to try slow pitch jigging so I bought this rod a while ago, have caught red snapper and a bunch of other bottom fish as well as amberjack on it and haven’t had any problems yet.

Excellent sensitive tip with a strong back bone to set the hook. Not the best for tossing lures but works great for soaking bait.

This is much lighter and more sensitive that the next step up in my quiver. Unique in a quality salt water rod. Paired with Abu Revo stx 4000. Very light setup.

Just got a 7’ MH rod and it is great! Went out twice this week and caught some fluke right off the surf. Handled them great. I paired it with a 5000 stradic fl (stradic is on the smaller side) and its an unmatched pair. Great rod, plan to use it for freshwater as well
ProsSuper sensitive, strong, reliable, comfortable to use. Great rod

Best multi-use saltwater rod
October 24, 2019
I've used the 7,0 MH spinning rod for catching small spot and croaker in the bay to jigging for seabass with 3-4oz diamond jigs off of party boats. Paired with a 3000 size tsunami shield is perfect. Many times, a big bluefish will eat you jig and this rod has no problem swinging 5-8 pound blues over the party boat rails. Best rod ever.
ProsStrong, sensitive, light, balanced

This rod is a blast to use. I still can not believe the amount of power it has and the pressure you can put on it. Have used it jigging for blackfish and backbay fluking. The tip is really sensitive love using any time i get a chance!
ProsLight, powerful and great warranty

best rod brand out there for the price

They are literally manufactured around the corner from where i live ( less than 5 miles) in Mahwah NJ and are truly fantastic. I would recommend this company to anyone, plain and simple. This is my current pole from bottom fishing to Mahi Mahi and even smaller sharks. I even caught a 300+lb shark on my tsunami reel rated for 40 lb and my tsunami pole rated for 80-100 pound line in a chum slick 10 ft from the boat and wrenched him in. My father went out and bought a $300 custom rod years back for it's lightness and sensitivity, but when i handed him my rod to hold so i could get a sandwich, he he wouldn't give it back and went out and bought one of these. The thing is so sensitive you can literally feel the types of ocean floor terrain you are on, and distinguish bites from that, and also it is light as a feather.
ProsWell worth the money. Very sensitive. Light as a feather. Strong poles. Very good looking.
ConsAbsolutely none. Best rod i have ever used, and i have used a lot!

Field Test
June 10, 2018
I put this Tsunami SWSPS601-M Slim Wave Spinning Rod to the test. 1. Used 4oz & 5oz sinkers with Hi-Lo rig 2. caught 1lbs - 5lbs Black Sea Bass, Porgy, and Sea Robin total 62 fishes 3. Used Shimano Stradic 2500 FJ with 41mm Power knob & reel strand 4. Used PowerPro 20lbs & Berkley Trilene Big Game Monofilament 15lbs as leader At first, I was worried about swinging Black Sea Bass, Porgy, and Sea Robin with Tsunami SWSPS601-M Slim Wave Spinning Rod, but no problem, this rod handled 5lbs fish no problem. second, how easy to detect very sensitive bites.. I don;t know about SWSPS641-MH and SWSPS701-MH, this is like less than 6oz rod, so it was very comfortable using it all day. Next field test will be Summer Flounder and Bluefish. I hope this rod will handle 7lbs-15lbs fish. Because Major Craft rods are skinner and handle over 20lbs fish. So, I will expect this rod to handle 20lbs fish.
Prosreally good for detecting sensitive bites
Conslittle poor finish on grips and rod blank...

It’s decent for the money.

I purchased the 7â‚" MH spinning version. I love the action of the rod blank itself, it has a soft tip, but plenty of backbone when under load. The only problem i have with it is the unusually small size of the first few guides. When paired with a reel with a large diameter spool you get excessive line slap at the first guide which decreases your casting distance dramatically. I first tried this rod with a Stradic 5000 but had to swap over to the 3000 size to gain more distance. If itâ‚"s being used as strictly a vertical jigging rod the small guides wonâ‚"t matter. Itâ‚"s also a little heavier than i would like it to be. I probably wonâ‚"t buy another unless the price drops under $100. Time will tell on its durability.
ProsGreat action
ConsLittle heavy First few guides too small (Spinning version)

Perfect Rod!!!
November 30, 2017
This rod feels and looks like a trout rod but it handles jumbo porgy, black sea bass, bonito, mackerel, summer flounder, and bluefish. I love this rod with Shimano Stradic ST2500FJ with Gomexus Power Handle Knob 38mm. The perfect combo!!!
