These will sink deep, make sure you’ve got good knot connections or it will crack your leader right off when casting given the weight

Deep water plastics

Great lure caught fish right out of the box. Its heavy enough to work the deep fast water, and its profile cast well too. Strong plastics body holds up to many fish.

Tough and great overall soft bait lures
July 23, 2019
We troll and usually bucktails with soft body shad. But we also use one or two of these and they perform well and are tough. We have several that have caught fish that still swim well and aren't beat up. Great baits for the price. They also make a double hook soft lure that we use in trophy season.

Good soft bait

These lil guys work pretty well. They have a tail wobble that you can feel so you know it's working. They are cheap enough to not worry if you get hung up on structure or if a blue decides he wants a taste. They stand up well to many stripers but when the compers are around look out.
ProsCost Nice action Nice variety of colors and sizes to Mach your local baitfish
Conssoft plastic doesn't hold up to toothy critters

Good swimming action, solid hook and heavier weight to get down in rips, what else is there to say. Great swim shad for big stripers.

Have great success below dams on the Ohio river in moderate and heavy current. Hybrid Stripers, Stripers, and blue cats love this bait.
ConsWish they had a 4" size for early spring. I miss lots of fish and I think it may be related to the the large size. Hybrids have a smaller mouth that a true Striper.

Great for inlets
January 9, 2018
These have the extra weight needed to get the bait down top when there is a lot of current. I use these all the time when fishing an inlet.
ConsHooks could be beefier

Crack for stripers

When we get deep in the Fall run of striped bass, these Swim shads are candy. Swimming them along the bottom in a slow presemntation works like a champ. All colors work, but the white seem to be among the most conisitent as the mimick the peanut bunker. I will not leave the dock without a couple of these in my bag.
ProsEasy to work get down deep underneath the bluefish
ConsBluefish love them too. It gets expenive when they start biting the tails off

Fat shad 4 oz

Working great for the CC canal when the current is at medium speed.
ProsHeavy but small casts well
ConsNot heavy enough for the Cc canal when the current is fast. Does not reach the bottom. Also because of the soft nose hard to tell that it had hit bottom. As compared to a jig with lead head.

Great Bait for Stripers!!!!
June 6, 2016
These baits are great! The larger size and extra weight allows you to get the bait lower in the water column with adding additional in line weight. you can you run them on their own, single or double on an umbrella or as a tandem with a smaller bait. These things catch fish!!!! The are also a great option for the change over from trophy season to summer, Being larger, they have the size and hook strength to take on the big fish but still catch summer size fish as well.
ProsThese baits catch fish!!!!!
ConsThey are a little expensive. Remember, they are soft baits, if they get torn up, try some crazy glue but also if they get torn up, you are catching fish......

Have started fishing soft baits for pike in the winter when they like slow moving bait deep down and found tsunamis lures to be great! Also works great for cod all year round.

The entire Tsunami deep series are great baits. They get down deep where you need them and the tails never get hung up on the hook during the cast.

Love this for tossing off the surf or on jetties...the heavier weight helps with casting distance and keep the shad on the bottom at the inlet....have used all colors to catch fish
