Great Overall
Plastic is durable enough to catch many fish. Hook is super sharp and strong enough for the job. Paddle tail swims fine but like all or most pre-rigged plastic swimbaits is that if the tail is not straight the bait won't swim straight.

They catch everything
Stripers, blues and fluke love them. If I can't catch on these, I usually have to try somewhere else.
ProsStronger hook, a more durable body, and eyes that don't fall out as fast when compared to Storm's shads.
ConsThe seem to have a little less action than Storm's shads.

Swim shads
These are my favorite swim shads to throw. Love them off jetties. You can feel that tail working. Also throw them around bridges.

Great Bait for Stripers!!!!
Great for summer season Striper fishing. You can cast or troll with them. They are a lot like the popular Storm Lures but have the advantage of having a stronger hook which makes a huge difference.
ProsProbably one of the best baits out there for Summer Striper Fishing
ConsNot the cheapest lures out there. Soft lures are soft lures, if you are catching, they won't last that long, so order a few packs (it's worth it - I guess this would count as a Pro!

Good lure
Have started fishing soft baits for pike in the winter when they like slow moving bait deep down and found tsunamis lures to be great! Also works great for cod all year round.

Good Striper and Weakfish Lure
I have had a lot of success using this lure. For Stripers I use a slow retrieve and for weakfish I let the current take the lure but keep the line taught and stay in contact. I prefer the Tsunami Shad over the Storm Shad due to the hook eye being more forward. I feel this gives it a better swimming presentation. In addition to casting this lure I also can troll with it from my kayak.

Great soft bait!
These are very productive lures, but the hooks could be a bit bigger. I use these quite a bit though and they haven't failed me. The barb is the perfect size so I don't have to crush it and it still comes out of the fish easily.

Great product
This is my go to lure (5 or 6") when I first arrive for striper fishing. I generally retrieve them pretty slowly near the bottom. The tail give a nice "thrumming" action to the lures.
ConsBluefish sometimes cut the in half.

Affordable Lure
When I fish on sticky bottom, I use this lure more than bucktail or crank bait. This Swim shad is cheaper but action is not cheap.. It swim well and catches some fish..
ProsAffordable, Good swimmer
ConsHooks are little bit weak, but enough with 28inch striper

Good weakfish lure
This lure has worked very well with the weakfish this year. It hold a little better in stronger current than the other swim shads.
ProsFishes pretty well in deeper stronger current than the wild eye
ConsIts a soft body so bluefish will chew it up

Work Well
The Tsunami Swim Shads have worked very well for me. I've fished them from shore at Popponesset Point and in the rips of Monomoy and east of Nantucket with success. They do get a little beat up, and if blues are around your better to stick with a hard bait as they will tear the swim shads up and you'll be left with nothing but the hook by the time you get it boatside. Because of that durability problem I think they may be a little expensive. However if they bluefish or other toothy critters are absent then these lures are great!

Striper fishing is lit up right now in New Jersey, and it’s just the start of the spring run. While there are varied tactics to catch bass via trolling, livelining, snag-n-drop, etc. jigging bass with soft baits is always an adrenaline juiced affair... Read More
